Common questions
How do I sign in?
After the welcome screen, enter your email and type in the 6-digit code we send you. You can also continue with Google on the website. Sign in with Apple and Google come to the iPhone app with its App Store release. There are no passwords.
How does the free plan work?
Each day you get everything for 3 hours, starting when your first scan finishes, and 10 scans. After that, everything except the Scan screen locks until midnight. Any scans you have left still work. Safety warnings never lock. Pro removes the limits.
How accurate is the cloud scan?
A scan is an estimate from one photo, and it can be wrong. It works best aimed at open sky away from trees, buildings and the sun. When the app isn’t sure, it says so and shows a second guess. Never use a scan to decide whether to fly.
Why are airports or hazards in the wrong direction?
The camera view relies on your phone’s compass, which metal, cars and buildings can easily throw off. Step into the open and move the phone in a figure-8 to recalibrate, or use the compass check in Your profile. In an aircraft, turn on Flight mode (Layers menu), which uses GPS instead. Never use the camera view for navigation.
How do I get weather alerts on my iPhone?
On the web version, first add WxrExplorer to your Home Screen: in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. Open WxrExplorer from the new icon, tap Your profile, go to Weather alerts, enter your home airport, tap Turn on alerts and allow notifications. This needs iOS 16.4 or later.
Why didn’t I get an alert?
Alerts are checked about every 15 minutes and can be delayed or missed. Check that notifications for WxrExplorer are allowed in your phone’s settings and that a Focus mode isn’t hiding them. Never rely on WxrExplorer alerts for safety.
Does WxrExplorer work offline?
Partly. It can show the last weather it downloaded, clearly marked with its age. Live data needs a connection.
Does WxrExplorer upload my photos or track me?
No. Cloud photos are analyzed on your phone and never uploaded. There are no ads and no tracking. See the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my account or data?
- Your account: in the app, open Your profile, then Account, then Delete account. This erases your account, its devices, its free-plan count and its Pro status from our server.
- Alert data: turn off alerts in the app (Your profile, then Weather alerts, then Turn off alerts).
- Everything saved on your phone: delete the app or clear its website data.
- Anything else: email support@wxrexplorer.com.
How do I cancel Pro?
Pro is a subscription through the App Store, so you cancel it in your iPhone’s subscription settings (Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions). Deleting the app or your account does not cancel it.
