Flight instructor, Daytona Beach, Florida

I’m a Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI) based in Daytona Beach, Florida. I teach students at every stage: the private pilot certificate, the instrument rating, the commercial pilot certificate and the multi-engine add-on. I hold a commercial pilot certificate with single-engine and multi-engine ratings, along with my CFII and MEI.

I earned a Master of Science in Aviation and Aerospace Management, with an Aviation Safety Management Certificate, from Purdue University. Before that, I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Pilot Operations from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Why I built WxrExplorer

On my drive to the airport one day, I realized that aviation weather isn’t only one of the hardest subjects to teach. It’s also one of the hardest for students to learn.

I wanted to bridge the gap between the weather theory in my lessons and the real sky above us, using augmented reality. I set out to build something engaging and easy to use: something that makes pilots want to look at the weather, instead of being intimidated by the charts, the clouds or the weather data on their EFBs.

WxrExplorer is my way of modernizing how pilots learn aviation weather.
